Kohat have been breeding White Suffolks since 2008 and are proud to be able to supply high quality terminal rams to the Western Australian market. Most of our rams are sold to be used over Merino ewes. We have specifically designed our White Suffolks to excel at this purpose. Our breeding program includes keeping careful watch on smooth shoulders, low birth weight and good lambing ease while maintaining a heavy emphasis on eye muscle depth and carcase shape to improve the carcase characteristics of Merino cross lambs. Kohat rams are targeted to produce 18-26 kg carcase weight lamb with a fat score 2–3 with above average eating quality traits.

 

All of our White Suffolk sheep are performance recorded through Lambplan and we regularly carry out AI programs to access the best genetics in the country to pursue our aims. We are an active member of the Super Whites group which work collaboratively to improve the performance of our White Suffolk rams.
